Is your child between the ages of 6-17 and lives in Vermont? Are they struggling socially, emotionally or academically? Are they striving to reach a specific goal? Doe they just need someone to talk to?And...Do they want a Big Brother/Big Sister?

Your child's safety is our number one priority.

Volunteer Bigs are required to complete an extensive screening process that includes:

​

  • Completion of a formal application

  • Background, reference and driving record checks

  • An in-person interview

  • A professional assessment of the volunteer's suitability to work with a child

  • A volunteer orientation; and

  • Pre-match training that outlines healthy relationship development, child safety and the individual needs of your child. 

  

Parent Involvement

Parents are crucial partners in their child's mentor match. 

 

Throughout the time your child is matched, our professional staff will be in regular communication with you, your child and your child's Big. It's the best way to build a strong relationship that will have the greatest impact on your child's future success.​
